Harmonising the Dual Pursuit
Why pick one? Scholar or athlete? Aren’t we capable of both?
It always felt like mediocrity across both of my passions in life, sport and academia, yet it’s developed into a combined level of achievement that most don’t seek.
It was never that the two were pulling me in different directions, but that I wasn’t recognising the strength needed to handle both at once. A lack of confidence and self-belief whispering to me that I must only attempt to achieve success in one pursuit.
With growth, what I once lacked is becoming what I have in abundance, and with that the harmony of the dual pursuit becomes easier still.
